3D Travel founder and CEO Craig Carapelho talked recently with Hawaii business reporter Howard Dicus on Hawaii News Now's Sunrise program to discuss big announcements at the company, including the acquisition of a mobile app and its founder joining the 3D Travel Team.
"Our new mobile app connects merchants with visitors who are already here in Hawaii," Carapelho said. "It allows us to push last minute deals to travelers who are on vacation — inventory that otherwise would have been unsold."
They also spoke about Jason Rushin, creator of the HulaCopter app, joining 3D Travel as vice president of Marketing and Product Development. "We're acquiring his talent, and strong mobile background, technology and marketing. He also has Silicon Valley start-up experience. We're very fortunate to have him as well," Carapelho said.
"This is a local tech company that's still growing," Dicus told viewers. "I always like to remind you that Hawaii has a nice, vibrant little tech sector."
