Key attractions updated with "behind the gate" Street Views

Hello, kitty. Google Earth has updated street views with inside-the-gate views of spots around Hawaii, including the Honolulu Zoo.

Google Maps has updated street views on a number of key Oahu attractions, allowing users to "get behind the gate" and peer among the features within.

The updated sites are the Honolulu Zoo, Iolani Palace, Wet 'n' Wild Hawaii water park, and Diamond Head Crater. We've updated 3DHawaii with these new views — simply click the "Street View" button on any location and click your way through the attractions and landmarks.

The views are courtesy of the Google Street View Trike: a pedicab outfitted with cameras to shoot all angles as far as the trike could reach.

From Google Maps: "While we've been able to visit some beautiful places around the world with the Street View car, some of the most interesting and fun places aren't accessible by car. One day while mountain biking, Mechanical Engineer Dan Ratner realized he could combine his favorite hobby with Street View to explore new places, and set to work building a bicycle-based camera system. As a result, we've been able to take the Trike to parks and trails, university campuses, and even sports stadiums."

We'll continue to update our locations with these new views as they come online, which will instantly be pushed out to our Private Label clients.. Meanwhile, happy exploring!

About 3D Travel, Inc.

In June 2010, 3D Travel, Inc. launched 3DHawaii.com, the first of its planned 3D travel sites. The concept was so appealing that major clients such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center signed contracts well before the site went live. In December 2010, 3DLasVegas.com was launched and included major clients such as MGM Resorts International. 3DSanFrancisco was launched in January 2012.

3D Travel, Inc. is developing many new and exciting features and partnerships to be announced soon, and stay tuned for additional 3D cities. The company has built a world-class team with offices in California and Hawaii.

'Powered By' 3D Private Label Portals

3D Travel's unique private label platform technology provides visitor bureaus, travel wholesalers, hotels and tourist attractions with the unique ability to create customized 3D destination experiences built around their location. 3D Travel also provides Private Label clients with access to its content network, which is made up of thousands of location descriptions, video and photo galleries, and its unique 3D navigation.

"The benefit to the end users of the site is ease of travel planning and having an all-in-one tool," said Craig Carapelho, CEO of 3D Travel, Inc. "A user can easily explore the interior and exterior of a hotel they are interested in, fly down the streets near the hotel to see what restaurants and shopping are within walking distance, and then use our What's Nearby tool to see what sights and attractions are nearby, get directions, and make bookings. There is nothing else like it."
