Storming Stump! at The Manifest in Honolulu We're getting a weekly pau hana ("work is done," aka happy hour) thing going at the Team Vision Virtual offices. The Manifest, an art-filled, edgy bar in Honolulu's Arts District in Chinatown, offers a trivia night on Tuesdays called Stump! Hosted by Hawaii Public Radio and Civil Beat reporter Adrienne LaFrance, teams of up to six people answer questions over four rounds in subjects ranging from Art History to Music to World Geography, with bonus rounds in between for extra points. ABOVE: Programmer Justin Zaun and 3DHawaii editor Christine Strobel get mentally prepared for Stump! at The Manifest. Our scrappy team of three tied for fourth among roughly 20 teams last night. We'd be proud, but we're in it to win it, so we've already got next week on the horizon. Programmer Chris Veith had the starring moment last night when, given the subject "Law History," he correctly answered "Brown vs. Board of Education" – before the question was asked. Maybe the subject was a bit of a gimme. The art-filled Manifest rolls as a coffee bar by day and plays host to music, dancing, cocktails (and trivia!) by night. Strong wi-fi no matter when you go. Definitely a must-stop when you're exploring the bountiful nightlife in the Arts District. See The Manifest in 3D » |
